Disclosure Rules Proposed for Analysts
The National Assn. of Securities Dealers proposed rules that would force Wall Street stock analysts to disclose whether they have financial conflicts of interest in the stocks they recommend to investors.
Analysts would have to tell investors if they own shares of companies they follow and would have to disclose whether their brokerage firms own a 5% or greater stake in a company. The rules would require the disclosures in written research reports as well as in television and radio appearances.
