Santa Paula 28, Carpinteria 28--Santa Paula rallied from a 21-6 second-quarter deficit at Carpinteria.
John Arguellos threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to John Wadkowski with 1:31 to play to pull Santa Paula to within, 28-26. Arguellos lobbed a two-point conversion pass to Wadkowski for the tying score.
The touchdown was set up by a 72-yard kickoff return by Xavier Ramirez that gave the Cardinals a first down at the 15-yard line with two minutes to play.
Defensive back Rudy Aldana had two interceptions and a fumble recovery for Carpinteria. Santa Paula has lost 11 of 12 games against Carpinteria.
