Palmdale 40, Bloomington 38--Tyrone Culver’s interception with eight seconds to play allowed the Falcons (2-0-1) to hold off host Bloomington.
Palmdale led, 40-16, at the half after Terry Furlow threw three touchdown passes in the last 4:30 of the second quarter.
Bloomington, which did not stop a Palmdale drive in the first half, forced two punts and two fumbles in the second half. The Bruins pulled within 40-38 with 4:06 left on a touchdown run but failed on a two-point conversation run after an illegal procedure penalty.
Palmdale recovered the ensuing onside kick. The Falcons lost a fumble at the Bloomington 12 with 2:40 left. The Bruins drove to the Palmdale 23, but Culver intercepted a pass at the Palmdale 18 and returned it to the 44 to seal the victory.
Culver returned an interception 83 yards for a touchdown to give Palmdale a 14-8 lead in the second quarter.

Antelope Valley 21, Sultana 0--Sean Wallace had 136 yards and a touchdown in 20 carries at Sultana.
Angel Avita had a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter that gave Antelope Valley (1-1) a 14-0 lead.
Wallace’s 50-yard scoring run, with a two-point conversion by quarterback Demetre Booker, gave Antelope Valley an 8-0 first-quarter lead.
Booker threw a 32-yard scoring pass to Garland Baker late in the third quarter.
