San Antonio Elementary School is seeking funding for its after-school Reading Rangers program.
Honor students from Nordhoff High School work one-on-one with struggling students from San Antonio Elementary School to boost their academic skills. The elementary school students are chosen based on their Stanford 9 test scores.
Tutors attend three rigorous training sessions before becoming Reading Rangers.
Organizers are looking for donations to cover the expense of the six-week tutoring sessions, which cost $60 per student, and the training series, which costs $500.
For more information, or to make a contribution, call San Antonio Principal Liza Baker at 640-4373.
