Assured by Insurance

My husband and I were recently on a Princess Cruise along the African coast when I became ill. We had signed up for travel insurance, and it turned out to be well worth the investment (about $240 per person).

When I developed stomach discomfort, the ship’s doctor thought it was gallbladder, although he couldn’t be sure. He thought we should leave the ship in Namibia and have it checked, and he took care of contacting the insurance company. Arrangements were made to fly us to Johannesburg to see a surgeon. I was then given the choice of having surgery there or returning home for additional care. We decided to come home.

The insurance took care of all arrangements. The company checked in with me every day to see how I was and even called the night we got home to make sure I was all right.
