*** Fishbone & the Familyhood Nextperience, “The Psychotic Friends Nuttwerx,” Hollywood. Still partying at ground zero with a heady mix of ska, funk, rock and pointed social commentary, the L.A. band--precociously ahead of its time in the mid-’80s--returns from a layoff a tad behind the ska-rock revival. Its intelligence, wit and good ol’ funky fun transcend trends, though, and outstrip recent latecomers, including No Doubt, whose Gwen Stefani heads a guest cast ranging from Perry Farrell to George Clinton to Donny Osmond.
