Eric Perez, a senior infielder at Kennedy, was transported by ambulance to Granada Hills Hospital on Thursday after tearing a ligament in his back while diving during pregame drills before a game against Chatsworth.

He collapsed on the field, unable to walk. Perez spent Thursday and Friday night hospitalized. He said numbness in his legs has disappeared and he can move them.
