Skies are expected to be sunny and clear today for the 12th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Starting at 10 a.m., leprechauns, green-clad dancers and floats will move down Main Street beginning at Santa Clara Street and ending at the San Buenaventura Mission.
Joe Sirard, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard, said the day will be mostly sunny with highs in the 70s.
“The day should start in the mid-to upper 40s, and by parade time it will be in the 60s,” he said.
He said the afternoon should sport some light breezes that will drop the temperature a few degrees.
The parade will have 63 entrants, including Irish music, equestrian groups and miniature cars. After the parade, the party will move to nearby Mission Park for a festival celebrating Irish lore. The festival will continue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
