Canoga Park def. Birmingham, 15-10, 15-10, 11-15, 15-9--Almon Ulanday had 13 kills and 14 digs for the Hunters in a nonleague match at Birmingham.
Michael Salamanca had 13 kills and 12 digs for Canoga Park (2-1).
Granada Hills def. Kennedy, 11-15, 15-4, 15-7, 15-6--Adam Ghoniem had 17 kills for the Highlanders (2-0) at Granada Hills.
Dax Grooms had 14 kills for Kennedy (1-1).
BASEBALL
Grace Brethren 3, Cate 1--Tim Thompson didn’t allow a hit in three innings of relief and struck out five to earn the 40th victory of his career at Grace Brethren.
Thompson is 11 victories shy of the Southern Section record.
