The price of a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline hit a record $1.63 in California this week. If, as some are predicting, gas goes to as much as $2 a gallon this summer, filling up at the local pump may get a bit pricey for many vehicle owners. Chart is for base models with automatic transmission and two-wheel-drive in the case of sport-utility vehicles:
