NORTH HOLLYWOOD — A Tujunga man who was critically injured when a Mack truck rolled over on top of his car died Wednesday, authorities said.
Frank Rivera, 37, was driving his 1971 Chevrolet northbound on Vineland Avenue about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday when he collided with the truck, which was heading east on Sherman Way, said Det. Tom Whetzel of the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division.
The truck also struck an AMC Eagle, Whetzel said. No one else was seriously injured.
Authorities speculated that the accident was caused by either Rivera or the truck driver running a red light.
Rivera was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he later died, Whetzel said.
The accident is under investigation.
