The City Council will meet in special session Thursday to discuss filling a council seat vacated by former Mayor Juan M. Garcia.
Councilman G. Steve Simonian said the council hopes to name a candidate during the meeting. The council will also conduct any remaining interviews with candidates.
The interim position, which runs through December, will be filled by Monday.
