Pacific Drive School celebrated this week’s kickoff of “Let’s Read 4 Life,” a program that encourages students to read.
KNBC-TV (Channel 4) weatherman Christopher Nance was on hand Monday morning to first- through sixth-graders to read as much as possible over the next few weeks.
Nance, an author of seven children’s books, has offered the program to elementary schools across Orange County, school officials said.
Over the next six weeks, students will be encouraged to read as many books as they can, and teachers mark their progress on classroom charts.
At the end of the program, Nance will return to Pacific Drive to honor the students who have read the most books. Prizes will be awarded.
