* Southwest Airlines Co. boosted fares as much as $4 each way, less than half the increase adopted by competitors, to help offset higher jet-fuel prices. The low-fare carrier increased rates $2 each way on flights of as far as 600 miles, $3 each way for flights 601 to 900 miles, and $4 each way for routes of more than 901 miles.
