Camarillo 35, Murrieta Valley 33--Gillian Lillich scored 11 points and Lauren Ferreira added nine for the Scorpions, who blew a seven-point fourth-quarter lead but rallied to win a third-round game at Camarillo.
Rachel Woodward barely missed a potential game-winning three-point shot at the buzzer for Murrieta Valley, the Sunbelt League champion.
Camarillo (18-9), ranked No. 9 in the region by The Times, never trailed, and led, 30-23, midway through the fourth quarter. But the Nighthawks (22-6) tied the score, 30-30, on a layup by Javina Ross with 2:48 remaining.
The Scorpions pulled ahead for good, 34-30, on Lauren Stroot’s short bank shot, and Ferreira and Tanya Wismann added free throws.
Lillich converted one of two free throws with 16.2 seconds remaining to put the Scorpions ahead, 35-33.
