About 75 window washers will converge at the Disneyland Hotel today and Thursday for two contests that test speed and accuracy. The first competition is to clean three windows with the fewest smudges or streaks in the shortest time. Richard Moureau of Paris will defend his 1999 title.
That time fell just short of the mark recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. The second contest will feature 13 windows of assorted sizes and will be judged mostly for cleaning quality.
Preliminary trials will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and finals will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
The contests are part of the annual International Window Cleaning Assn. Convention from Wednesday through Saturday that gives window washers tips on cleaning, business management and safety.
