City Council members will meet Thursday to discuss the possibility of televising council sessions on a local-access cable station to reach a broader audience.
During the public hearing, council members Dorothy Rush and John Holmberg will report on study sessions between the city and Adelphia Cable, the city’s cable provider, on the options for televising council meetings.
Rush said she and Holmberg have been serving on a council subcommittee and have discussed the types of television equipment and the project’s total cost with Adelphia representatives.
The city has had its own cable channel, Channel 3, for more than 10 years, which has served primarily as a bulletin board for upcoming events, said Robert Dale, a local resident in favor of televised meetings.
