Internet retailer Buy.com Inc. said Tuesday that it has expanded its Web site to offer travel bookings through its Buytravel.com, which it added to its roster of online specialty stores.
The new portion of the Aliso Viejo company’s Web site allows customers to book flights, make hotel reservations and rent cars. It features United Airlines E-fares, discount tickets previously available only on the carrier’s site. The Buy.com addition also sells travel-related products, including guide books and cameras.
With the travel site, Buy.com, the fourth-largest e-tailer by revenue, adds to a product array that already includes computer products, books, music and consumer electronics.
The company recently raised $182 million through an initial sale of stock. Its shares closed at $13.75 Tuesday, down $1.44 a share.
