CLU Marks Vikings’ Arrival on Continent

A two-day program on the Vikings’ exploration and settlement of North America will be held at Cal Lutheran University’s Scandinavian Cultural Center on Friday and Saturday.
The program, celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of the Vikings’ arrival in North America, will feature archeologists discussing Viking excavations, a maritime historian discussing Nordic navigational techniques and actors portraying Hans Christian Andersen and Leif Ericsson.
The program will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for both days are $40.
