* Jakks Pacific Inc., a Malibu-based toy marketer, reported record fourth-quarter net income of $9.0 million, or 49 cents per share, compared with $1.5 million, or 14 cents, a year ago. The EPS results reflected 18.4 million weighted average shares outstanding this quarter vs. 11.8 million. Revenue rose to $62.5 million from $23.9 million in the period.

* USA Biomass Corp. said it plans to acquire closely held San Diego-based American Waste Transport Inc. for about $6 million in cash and stock. AWT is a solid waste transporter with operations in Southern California and southwestern Arizona. It has sales of more than $12 million in fiscal 1999. Bell Gardens-based USA Biomass operates green waste recycling and solid waste transport services in Los Angeles and Orange counties. USA Biomass shares fell 28 cents to close at $4.94 on the Nasdaq Small-Cap Market.
