Northern Arizona 83, Cal State Northridge 73--The Lumberjacks, propelled by a career-high 35 points from three-point specialist Ross Land, coasted to victory over a confused Matadore team before 2,188 at the Walkup Skydome at Flagstaff, Ariz.
The Lumberjacks (12-9, 6-4 Big West), after an 0-4 start in conference play, extended their winning streak to six and pulled even with Northridge (14-7, 6-4) in a tie for third with six games to play. The victory also extended Northern Arizona’s home record to 47-5 over the past 52 games.
Northridge, playing its third of five road games during a six-game stretch, is 2-2 in its last four games. The Matadors play at Montana and Montana State next week on consecutive nights. Montana, at 8-3 in the conference, is in second place.
