Devine Penalty Kick Lifts Aliso Niguel to Sea View Crown

Host Aliso Niguel, ranked third in the county, clinched the Sea View League title with a 1-0 victory over No. 5 Woodbridge Tuesday in a girls’ soccer game.
Kim Devine scored the only goal on a penalty kick in the 55th minute and Taryn Acosta had seven saves to earn her 12th shutout this season. The Wolverines (14-1-3, 6-0-1), who won the Pacific Coast League title last season, have allowed only eight goals this season.
Woodbridge is 11-4-2, 3-2-2.
In another Sea View League game:
Irvine 2, Laguna Hills 1--Nikkie Fournier broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 72nd minute for Irvine (7-11-2, 3-4). Lindsey Balzhiser scored in the 55th minute to tie it, 1-1, for Laguna Hills (11-7-4, 3-4-1).
In the Century League:
El Modena 7, Santa Ana Valley 0--Vicki Bloom scored her 26th and 27th goals for El Modena (14-5-2, 8-1), which will play Foothill for the league title Thursday.
In the Empire League:
El Dorado 2, Loara 1 (OT)--Vanessa Chanez scored the game-winner five minutes into overtime, giving El Dorado the league title. Angela Rodriguez scored midway through the second half to make it 1-1 for the Golden Hawks (13-7-2, 8-0-1).
In the Freeway League:
No. 10 Sunny Hills 2, La Habra 0--Simi Phull scored a goal in each half on assists from Megan Broschak to clinch the league title for Sunny Hills (21-4-1, 9-0).
In the Golden West League:
Westminster 2, Saddleback 0--Carly Torgerson and Amy Gilbert scored for Westminster (10-3-3, 4-2-1), which plays Santa Ana for second place Thursday.
In the Olympic League:
Orange Lutheran 2, Sierra Madre Maranatha 0--Brooke Williams had a goal and an assist and Heather Allen also scored a goal for visiting Orange Lutheran (8-6-3, 5-2-2).
In the Orange League:
Brea Olinda 3, Magnolia 0--Tiffany Scott scored two second-half goals for visiting Brea Olinda (14-6-3, 8-0-1), which clinched a share of the league title.
In the Serra League:
No. 2 Santa Margarita 1, Rosary 0--Erin Egertson scored the winner on a penalty kick in the second half for the Eagles (16-3, 6-0).
In the South Coast League:
El Toro 1, No. 9 Mission Viejo 0--Heather Jacobs scored on an assist from Nicole Imech one minute into the second half for host El Toro (13-9-1, 4-4), which moved into a tie for third with Mission Viejo (15-6-1, 4-4).
No. 4 San Clemente 7, Trabuco Hills 0--Emily Ernsdorf scored three goals and Alison Halpern had two for second-place San Clemente (13-2-3, 7-2).
In Academy League boys’ soccer:
St. Margaret’s 5, Fairmont 0--Mai Gallegos scored two goals for St. Margaret’s (13-6, 8-1), which clinched the league title.
In the Freeway League:
Sonora 3, Fullerton 0--Kyle Warsinski, Nazario Miramontes and Joe Martinez scored second-half goals for Sonora (10-5-4, 5-2-2). Fullerton is 15-4-4, 6-1-2.
In the Garden Grove League:
Los Amigos 7, La Quinta 0--Miquel Zapata scored two goals for Los Amigos (14-6-3, 9-1-2), which clinched at least a tie for the league title.
In Century League girls’ water polo:
No. 5 Foothill 16, El Modena 6--Brittany Hayes scored five goals, Jackie Pirro had four and Daylene Coberly added three for host Foothill (17-7, 4-0), which plays at seventh-ranked Villa Park (19-6, 4-0) for the league title Friday.
In nonleague girls’ water polo:
No. 9 El Toro 10, Rosary 7--Corrie Kenagy and Stephenie Hand scored three goals each for host El Toro (16-9), which limited UCLA-bound Rosary senior Natalie Golda to two fourth-quarter goals. Rosary is 17-9.
