Burnham USA Buys Mall in Orange for $26 Million

Burnham USA Equities said it has acquired the Orange Town & Country Mall in Orange from North American Properties of Cincinnati for $26 million. The 110,000-square-foot retail center, built in 1998, is 100% occupied with tenants including Barnes & Noble, Zany Brainy and Office Max. Scott Burnham, president of the Newport Beach commercial investment company, said the center’s location--near two major freeways and across the street from a larger regional mall, MainPlace/Santa Ana--was a key reason for acquiring the property. In addition, Burnham said, the retail center is near the rejuvenated central business district in Santa Ana. He predicted the area will draw higher-income families to live and shop, which should increase the value of his latest acquisition.
