In the Orange Empire Conference swimming finals:

Boyer wins--Chris Boyer of Saddleback won the 100 backstroke in 54.25 seconds, almost two seconds ahead of Grossmont’s Ashlin Wilbun. Former Laguna Hills swimmer Steve Poling of Saddleback won the 100 breaststroke in 58.21 seconds, finishing ahead of teammate Joel White (1:00.20).

In the women’s competition, Saddleback swimmers captured three events. Miyuki Hiraoka won the 200 freestyle (1:58.52), Caroline Staub won the 50 breaststroke (31.34) and Leilani Fitzgerald won the 50 freestyle (27.45).

After two days, Saddleback is in second place in both the men’s and women’s team competition.
