Chris Smith, a 5-foot-9 point guard from San Bernardino Pacific High, has committed to play basketball for Cal State Fullerton, his coach, Scott Smith, said Friday.
Chris Smith averaged 19.1 points, 10.5 assists and five steals for a team that was 27-3 and advanced to the Southern Section Division I-A semifinals.
“He’s a very good ballhandler and averaged about 2 1/2 turnovers a game,” said Scott Smith, who is not related. “He seemed to get better last season the better the competition. He averaged 23 points in the playoffs.”
Smith becomes Coach Donny Daniels’ second recruit at Fullerton. Guard Ryan Dillon of Victorville Victor Valley High said Thursday he plans to sign with the Titans.
