Erica Sauer, a 14-year-old from Somis, teamed with Reza Zalameda of Los Angeles to advance to the girls’ 16 doubles final last year.
Sauer was forced to withdraw this year because of a case of eczema on her feet.
“I have to stay out of shoes,” she said. “I can’t keep my shoes on.”
The problem surfaced while Sauer was on a U.S. Tennis Assn. tour of England and France in February.
“I was sweating and it made my feet sweat,” Sauer said.
Justin Montgomery, who won the boys’ 14-and-under singles last year, planned to play in the 16s singles but did not get his entry forms processed on time.
