Northridge Gets Swept Aside by Fullerton, 1-0

Brenda Iglesias hit a one-out sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to give Cal State Fullerton a 1-0 victory over Northridge on Saturday and a sweep of their three-game Big West Conference series at Fullerton.
Gina Oaks (12-3) pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and five walks, and scored for the Titans (37-11, 12-3 in conference play), who took a doubleheader on Friday.
Fullerton extended its winning streak to seven games and took over first place.
Jill Passafiume had two hits for Northridge (23-21-1, 13-5).
COLLEGE BASEBALL
Santa Clara 10-3, Pepperdine 8-8, Woody Cliffords hit a two-run home run, his sixth of the season, to help the Waves salvage a split in a West Coast Conference doubleheader at Pepperdine.
Cliffords had six hits and three runs batted in during the doubleheader. He hit a solo home run in the first game.
Damon Katz and Jared Pitney each had two RBIs for Pepperdine (26-19, 14-6).
Claremont-Mudd 7-6, Cal Lutheran 4-8--Jeff Meyers hit a tie-breaking two-run single in the seventh to give the Kingsmen a split of a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Claremont.
Tom Canale (9-0) scattered 10 hits, allowing four earned runs and striking out six in eight innings for Cal Lutheran.
Meyers hit a three-run home run in the first game, his third of the season for Cal Lutheran (22-8-2, 16-2).
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL
La Canada 3-1, Arcadia 0-2--Kelly Kalish pitched a two-hitter, striking out four and walking none for the Spartans in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader at La Canada.
Lauren Guza of La Canada hit a leadoff home run in the first inning, her first of the year.
Heather Fowlie had two hits in the second game for La Canada (9-6).
