The City Council today will consider extending the exclusive negotiation period for relocating the Festival of Arts from Laguna Beach.
If approved, the deadline would be moved from May 1 to June 7.
Councilman G. Wayne Eggleston said an extension is needed to conduct more engineering studies on traffic, parking and grading.
If the negotiations are successful, the city would draft a letter of intent formalizing its offer to the board of the 68-year-old summer institution.
The council will meet at 7 p.m., 100 Avenida Presidio.
