Photo Exhibit

After reading Bob Pool’s interesting Sept. 17 story regarding the exhibit of photos from the old Herald-Express at the Central Library, I plan to view these photos from L.A.’s past. Pool points out that the creative Her-Ex artists painted people out with airbrushing and painted in tears. These same artists also painted in flames where there were none!
As a reporter for the Los Angeles Mirror, I recall covering two fires where everything was cold when news crews arrived. Yet the Herald-Express artists painted in leaping flames and no one was troubled by this deception.
