Gore Visit

Your Sept. 18 article on Al Gore’s visit to Santa Monica High School taught our students that only rudeness makes the news. When about 60 students met with the vice president and Gov. Gray Davis in our school’s library, almost all of the students’ questions were positive and stuck to the issue of violence. Only one comment was negative and off track, and that was the one your reporter chose to quote. The lesson learned? Say something irrelevant and you’ll make the news.
