Re “A Place for PALs: Police Activity League Centers Offer Fun--and Help With Homework,” Sept. 20.
I hope whoever made the sign at the Oak View Center is not the person assisting the children with their English homework!
I do congratulate the officers for the work they are doing for the community, but this error was more than spelling . . . it was a lack of understanding of word meaning; there is a significant difference between “accept” and “except.”
Assignment: Whoever wrote the sign should write the meanings of the two root words 10 times each and post a corrected version.
