SOUTHERN SECTION FOOTBALL ROUNDUP

Barstow 41, Littlerock 20--The showdown between two of the Southland’s top running backs never materialized when Rodney Woods of Littlerock was held out of the game with a separated shoulder, and the Lobos lost during the regular season for the first time since 1997.
Woods, an All-Southern Section running back who had rushed for 519 yards in his first two games, was held out after separating his shoulder during a school-record 293-yard performance last week. The injury is not considered serious, but he was sidelined for precautionary reasons.
That left the spotlight to Ahmad Hawkins of Barstow, who rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns. He scored on runs of 17 and 23 yards, helping the Aztecs score the first 34 points of the game.
