Troy 14, Whittier La Serna 0--Brett Murray rushed for 129 yards in 29 carries and Troy’s defense shut down La Serna in a nonleague game at Fullerton Stadium.
The Warrior defense held the Lancers to 35 yards rushing.
“It was a very physical game,” Troy Coach John Turek said. “The defense came up big for us.”
Murray scored his second one-yard touchdown for the Warriors early in the fourth quarter. He then ran in for the two-point conversion.
“He had to fight for every square inch tonight,” Turek said. “Brett’s a tough kid.”
La Serna’s Ted Petropulos completed eight of 21 passes for 105 yards with one interception. Troy’s Jordan Oliver completed four of 11 passes for 49 yards.
