The Los Alamitos High School Show Choir will be having a working vacation of sorts when it goes to Camp Wrightwood this weekend. The choir, made up mostly of juniors and seniors, is gearing up for its annual concert Oct. 19 and 20, featuring tunes from Broadway musicals.
When they’re not swimming, the talented students will be doing a lot of singing and dancing, says Randi Carp, the vocal music director. It all started seven years ago when Carp first got her job at the school and had to put on a show in a mere six weeks. She got the idea of a working retreat, and since then it’s been a tradition.
The concert will be held in the high school auditorium. Admission will be $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
