Huntington Beach Romps Past Torrance Behind Shuck’s Runs

Shaun Shuck ran for 101 yards and three touchdowns and Casey Ryder completed 12 of 20 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown to lead Huntington Beach High to a 31-10 victory over Torrance Friday night at Zamperini Stadium in Torrance.

A three-yard touchdown run by Shuck gave Huntington Beach a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter. Russell Oschman recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff at the Torrance 42, leading to Shuck’s third touchdown, less than a minute later.

Soon after, Huntington Beach’s Chad Maki recovered another fumble at the Torrance 24. Casey Ryder then passed five yards to Oschman for a touchdown, giving the Oilers three touchdowns in three minutes.
