17 Former Pro-Israeli Soldiers Sentenced

Lebanon’s military court sentenced 17 former militiamen of the pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army to prison terms ranging from two months to 18 months for collaborating with Israel, judicial officials said in Beirut. The SLA is financed by Israel and aids in Israel’s occupation of a border strip in south Lebanon. One defendant received an 18-month prison term, 11 were sentenced to one year and three received six months. One received three months and another was given two months. The rulings brought to 150 the number of SLA militiamen sentenced in the past five weeks.
