Gray Scores 20 to Help Santa Ana Defeat Hancock

Greg Gray scored 20 points to lead Santa Ana to 96-80 victory over host Hancock in a nonconference men’s basketball game Friday.
Santa Ana led by three points at the half, then outscored Hancock 53-39 in the second half.
Zack Fray had 19 points and Mark Wulfemeyer had 17 for Santa Ana (4-0).
Hancock is 2-5.
In another nonconference game:
Canyons 112, Orange Coast 91--Duc Nguyen scored 27 points and David Castleton scored 18 for the Pirates (2-2). Nana Gbewunyo scored 33 points for Canyons.
In the Cypress women’s basketball tournament:
Porterville 80, Cypress 78--Rachel Green scored 23 of her 28 points in the second half to help Porterville (6-0) rally to defeat Cypress (0-4) in the first round. Kim Gildersleeve and Anita Colon each scored 17 points for Cypress.
In a nonconference women’s game:
San Diego Mesa 78, Saddleback 59--Erin Edmiston had 24 points to lead the Gauchos.
