Pacifica picked a bad time to be coming off its worst game of the season, a 38-20 drubbing from Garden Grove in the league title game. The most interesting comparative score is Costa Mesa’s 16-6 victory over Westminster, which defeated Garden Grove, 42-27, in Week 7. Pacifica is at its best when quarterback Joey Fuske and running back Jared Kemp are both clicking. But Kemp has been slowed by a sore ankle and Fuske has been inconsistent. Pacifica will load up to stop county rushing leader C.J. Zuniga, but the Mariners didn’t have much luck in stopping Garden Grove’s Bryan Loken or Los Amigos’ Ao Sualua.
