Edward Margulies, 48, a longtime Hollywood reporter who for many years was the co-editor of Movieline magazine. Most recently a columnist for the Web site Mr. Showbiz and editorial director of Movieline’s Web site, he began his career in films as a publicist for United Artists, Rogers and Cowan, PMK and Stan Rosenfield. He was co-author with Steve Rebello of the book “Bad Movies We Love,” and the pair co-hosted a television show with the same theme on Turner Network Television. Margulies is survived by his father, Stan, and his stepmother, Ferne; brother Lee, deputy editor of The Times’ daily Calendar section; sister Lisa Chadwick of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; a stepbrother, attorney Michael Kadish; and a stepsister, Ilene Sturrock of Atlanta. Services will be private. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Assn. On Tuesday in Los Angeles of a heart attack.
