Judge Denies Disney Request

A federal judge on Tuesday denied Walt Disney Co.’s request to lift a preliminary injunction requiring the entertainment giant to stop using the logo on its Go Network Internet sites. The ruling, in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, is another victory for Pasadena-based GoTo.com Inc. in its trademark infringement suit against Disney. The judge also rejected Disney’s request to have GoTo.com pay a $20-million bond to compensate Disney in case the company later proves the injunction was wrongly imposed. But under an agreement between the two companies, Disney will have 60 days to phase out use of its disputed traffic light logo on physical products.
