2-Day Class Intended for Older Drivers

Senior citizens are encouraged to attend a two-day course designed to improve their driving skills.
The course, offered by the American Assn. of Retired Persons, is held about once a month at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.
Upon completion of the course, drivers 55 and older get a state Department of Motor Vehicles certificate that may qualify them for reduced automobile insurance rates. The discount varies among insurers.
This month’s class is scheduled Thursday and Friday, from 5:30 to 9:30 each night.
Reservations are required, and this month’s class has few remaining slots. The next class is scheduled for Dec. 7 and 8, from 1 to 5 p.m. each day.
The cost of the course is $8. For more information, call the city’s senior center at 583-6363.
