‘Bone Collector’ Makes Winning Debut

“The Bone Collector” debuted at No. 1 at the box office with $16.7 million, marking the fifth time this year that Universal Pictures has had the No. 1 opener.
Two other new films had more lackluster results. “The Bachelor” opened in third place with $7.5 million, while “The Insider” came in fourth with $6.7 million.
“Double Jeopardy” has grossed $104.3 million after seven weeks in release--the 15th movie to pass the $100-million mark this year, compared to 10 by this date last year.
