NORTH HILLS — Police are seeking two men who shot a man to death when he answered the front door of his apartment, authorities said Sunday.
Two attackers shot Francisco Elenes, 40, in the chest at his residence in the 8100 block of Langdon Avenue about 8 p.m. Saturday, police said.
“A gunfight broke out during which Elenes was shot once,” police said in a statement. “It is not clear what the circumstances were at the door, or if the victim knew the suspects.”
Elenes’ wife and three children were at home but were not harmed by the intruders, police said.
Officers arrived to find several people trying to load Elenes into a car to take him to the hospital, but he was dead at the scene, police said.
Witnesses saw two men running away from the apartment.
