Receiver Mark Garcia and defensive lineman John Heagerty of St. Francis High want to become Marines. Several of their teammates have allegiances to the Air Force, creating for some interesting arguments.

“Marines are better,” Garcia said. “Air Force is the country club and Army stands for ‘Ain’t ready for Marines.’ ”

Coach Bill Redell isn’t going to join the argument even though one of his sons graduated from Air Force.

“They can join the Marines--as long as it’s after the football season,” he said.
