Fond Recollections of Brenda Starr

Thank you for the recent article and update on Dale Messick, creator of “Brenda Starr, Reporter” (“Starr Power” by Linda Feldman, April 26). When I was a girl growing up in Chicago, the Tribune comics were great, and my favorite was Brenda Starr. At that time (early 1940s), Messick would draw Brenda Starr paper dolls on the bottom half of the story board on Sundays in color! I eagerly awaited those days, got my scissors and had a wonderful time. I still have those paper dolls! What fun.
