City Council members next month will consider boosting their monthly pay from $500 to $690, effective in November 2000. The council has not received a raise since 1986. City administrators say $690 is comparable to the pay allotted to council members in similar-sized cities in Orange County. The council could give final approval to the raise as early as June 22.
