Costa Rica Seeks Silicon Valley Investments

Costa Rican President Miguel Rodriguez met with 40 Silicon Valley high-tech companies there Thursday in an effort to lure investment. High-tech products constitute about 26% of the country’s exports. Costa Rica--which has a more highly educated work force and a more stable democracy than most other countries in Latin America--received a boost two years ago when Intel Corp. agreed to locate a large production plant there that now employs 2,200.
