Sleeping Dog

* Re your May 15 photo (“The Leisure Class”) captioned, “It is a dog’s life for this pooch . . .,” showing a dog with no collar, no ID tag and napping on a sidewalk. The dog most likely is abandoned, homeless, or with an irresponsible family who obviously does not obey the leash law.
A dog’s life is a pooch in a home with an enclosed yard, food and water or better yet, inside a house with proper bedding and loving care. Unfortunately, the streets of Los Angeles are overburdened with dogs such as the one we saw in The Times. A dog’s life--I don’t think so!
