Olinda Adams; Descendant of City Co-Founder

Olinda Jean Hyde Adams, great-great-granddaughter of George Morton Richardson, a Santa Paula founder, died Saturday in Oak View. She was 56.
Adams was born in Santa Paula on Sept. 18, 1942. She attended Santa Paula High School and Ventura College before going to San Jose State College.
She loved hiking, music and singing in the church choir. Above all, she loved her children, family members said.
Adams worked as a legal assistant in the law offices of Ronald G. Harrington and Tim Quinn. Before that, she worked in the veterinary office of Harris Tate. She was active in the First United Methodist Church of Ventura.
Adams is survived by her husband of 36 years, Louis, of Oak View, son Michael Adams of Ventura, daughter Jennifer Heath of Ventura, mother Jean Weed Spier of Indio and brother Richard Hyde of Santa Paula.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Ventura, with private inurnment at the Richardson Family Cemetery in Santa Paula.
Contributions can be made to cancer research.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
