What Are You Drinking?

Bernard Portet, Clos Du Val
“It was a French wine, Chat^eau Montrose. I think the vintage was 1985. It was not too aggressive. A bit masculine. A bit powerful. And it had great depth and was less tannic than I expected. I had friends around, so I dragged out a bottle. We had it with beef roast in its own juice and served with haricots verts. I liked it. The appreciation of wine is all about friends gathered around the table.”
